You may be wondering which fiction class would be right for you this winter. Let us help!
If you're an enthusiastic, serious beginner or an experienced short story writer or novelist who wants to broaden and deepen their craft, Tools for Writing Fiction with Christopher DeWan would be an excellent class for you, starting February 21 in Pasadena.
If you’re an emerging writer mostly interested in short stories, we’d suggest The Art of the Short Story with Neelanjana Banerjee on Sunday mornings starting February 10 at Other Books in Boyle Heights.
If you’re ready to dive further into your novel idea, we'd recommend Novel I with Kate Maruyama starting February 19 in Glendale. If you already have a novel draft underway, there are two spots left in Novel II with Scott O’Connor. This class meets in Silver Lake starting February 18.
If you’re a short story writer or novelist who’d prefer a class on the westside of Los Angeles, we’d recommend Westside Fiction with Laura Warrell starting February 19 in Culver City.
If you have completed a novel and you’re ready to get feedback on the entire manuscript, you could sign up for Diana Wagman's Revising Your Manuscript workshop, starting February 10 in Echo Park.
If you’d like to take an online class this winter, you can choose from Healing Through Writing and the Creative Process with Francesca Lia Block starting February 24, Bring It—How to Add Conflict to Your Story with Joshua Mohr on March 2 and 9, Writing About Music with Chris L. Terry on March 16 and 23, Websites for Writers with Chris Daley on March 23 and April 6, or Organizing Your Writing with Scrivener with Neelanjana Banerjee on April 6 and 20.
If you’re more in the mood for a one- or two-day seminar in Los Angeles, we’re offering Young Adult Fiction for Beginners with Lilliam Rivera on February 16 and 23 in Los Feliz and Short Story Crash Course with Neel Patel in Downtown LA on March 16 and 23.
