We're about to start our third term of online classes and we have several summer options for you! Our online classes are just like our in-person classes except we come to you—meeting in real time in a format not unlike the photo above. All classes are scheduled on the weekend to better accommodate your schedule. Jennifer McCharen of Berlin, Germany tells us, "I took 'Words + Images' with Chelsea Biondolillo and it was awesome! Perfect format, amazing prompts and readings, the best possible classmates, and a ton of inspiring fun. I'm definitely excited about upcoming WWLA online classes."
- If you're looking for a quick poetry fix with Elline Lipkin, recent poet laureate of Altadena, she will be teaching Welcome the Muse—A Generative Poetry Seminar for two Saturday mornings, July 28 and August 4. Learn how to find the "white heat" of a poem and coax out the central idea lurking within the work.
- Xochitl-Julisa Bermejo, co-founder of Women Who Submit, will lead our Submission Support Group, back by popular demand. The group meets for one hour a week for eight weeks on Saturdays at noon starting July 7. Reserve your spot today and get those submissions out in the world.
- We have two six-week workshops on the schedule this summer, priced at $315 for new students and $285 for returning students (with payment plans available). Chelsea Biondolillo is back to teach How to Compose & Publish a Prose Chapbook for fiction and nonfiction flash writers. From 0 to chapbook in six weeks on Saturday mornings starting August 4. WWLA Director Chris Daley will reprise her Short Story Crash Course, adapted for the six-week online format, on Sunday mornings starting July 22.
